"Puerto Plata" means "Silver Port" and refers to the silver sandy beaches of the Dominican Republic. The weather is a balmy breezy mid-80's, lush plant life abounds, people are friendly. On this deluxe all-inclusive resort where we will host you, you'll experience our first ever:

Empathy & Embodiment Retreat

Imagine it as "NVC in Paradise." Cathan and Mary discovered they share a passion for travel, adventure, fun, and Compassionate Communication (or NVC, Non-Violent Communication) practices. We both are ardent, active members of Compassion Course in which we are multi-year participants and facilitators. Thus, Empathy & Embodiment was born.

We invite you to soak up the luxury, relaxation, and adventure, and to join us in playful, pleasurable learning. While romping in paradise, we will share daily sessions of embodied empathy through Circle Shares, Exercises, Meditation, QiGong, Yoga, and Nature Hikes. 

Prior experience in NVC or compassionate communication are fabulous, but you won't be left behind if you are new to them. Our sessions will teach key tenets and practices, and apply them via practice and exploration to life, including adventures and insights we meet on retreat and in traveling!

A Sample Retreat Schedule:

You will also find some free time for rest and reflection. Maybe book a massage, or add an excursion, especially if you stay longer! You may extend your stay at our special VIP rate, pending availability, through Mary.
